Ask for a named page list and note which pages need unique layouts. “Up to ten pages” is not the same as ten fully prepared pages. Confirm whether policy pages, landing pages and the thank-you page count.

Words, photographs and preparation

Record who writes, edits, translates and uploads the content. Ask what happens when photographs are missing or unsuitable and whether stock-image licences are included. Content delays often delay the whole project.

Design, revisions and mobile work

Check whether the work uses an adjusted template or a tailored design and how review works. Confirm the included revision rounds, what counts as changed scope and whether phone and tablet layouts receive a separate check.

Access and ownership

SEO and redesign work

“SEO included” can mean only a plugin. Look for page titles, descriptions, headings, internal links, image handling, crawl controls and a sitemap. A redesign should also map old URLs and add permanent redirects where addresses change. Ongoing search work is a separate service.

Legal pages and ecommerce

Clarify whether supplied legal text is a generic starting point or tailored legal advice. For shops, list product entry, tax, delivery, payment, emails, returns and training. The store package should state product and integration limits.

Compare the written inclusions with your requirements rather than assuming every project fits a package.
